Rockwell Automation Reinforces India's Position as a Key Global Manufacturing Hub

Rockwell Automation, a leader in industrial automation, is significantly expanding its presence in India, aiming to establish the country as a key manufacturing hub. The company is investing in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai, set to begin production by May 2025. Initially focused on the semiconductor sector, the facility’s second phase will support India’s growing data center industry. The project is expected to create 230 new jobs, contributing to Rockwell’s rapidly expanding workforce in India, which has grown from 1,000 to over 4,000 employees in just four years.

India serves as both a critical global market and a hub for talent and innovation for Rockwell, with operations in Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru. In addition to its internal operations, Rockwell partners with Indian manufacturers like Mahindra, Tata Group, and MRF to promote smart manufacturing. The company is also supporting India’s sustainability goals with projects in solar, EV batteries, and water management, reinforcing its role in driving industrial and environmental transformation.

INOXGFL Group Expands into Solar Manufacturing

INOXGFL Group is entering the solar manufacturing sector through its subsidiary, Inox Solar, with plans to establish a 5 GW solar module and 2.5 GW solar cell production capacity by 2026. The company is investing rs1,500 crore in this initiative, with the first plant in Gujarat, set to begin operations by March 2025. This facility will produce advanced TopCon solar modules.

Inox Solar will provide turnkey EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) solutions, including land acquisition and power evacuation, through Inox Renewable Solutions Ltd. Additionally, post-commissioning operations and maintenance will be managed by Inox Green Energy Services.

This move strengthens INOXGFL’s position in the renewable energy sector, complementing its existing investments in wind energy, electric vehicles (EVs), and energy storage. With operations in diverse industries like fluoropolymers and battery chemicals, the group aims to become a fully integrated player in the energy transition. Its efforts support India’s renewable energy targets and sustainability goals.

Conclusion

The recent developments from INOXGFL Group and Rockwell Automation underscore India’s growing significance as a key player in global industrial and renewable energy sectors. INOXGFL’s entry into solar manufacturing, backed by substantial investment and strategic expansion plans, strengthens its role in the country’s renewable energy transition, complementing its existing ventures in wind energy and electric vehicles. This move positions the company as a leader in driving India’s sustainability goals.

Meanwhile, Rockwell Automation’s expansion into India, with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai, further solidifies the country’s role as a hub for industrial automation and digital transformation.
