Ola joins hands with Siemens to build the most advanced electric
vehicle manufacturing facility in the state of Tamil Nadu. Under the collaboration,
Ola will have access to integrated Digital Twin design and manufacturing solutions
developed by Siemens that would help to digitize and validate product and product
ahead of actual operations.
Ola recently signed a deal with the state government of
Tamil Nadu to setup its manufacturing facility in the state at the cost of INR 2,400
crore. As per the company, the plant will be the largest scooter manufacturing
facility in the world with the initial production capacity of 2 million units
per year. It is will serve as Ola’s global manufacturing base enabling the
company to deliver to its clients across India, the US, the UK, Europe, etc.
The manufacturing facility would help India minimize dependence
on imports in the area of EVs and boost the domestic manufacturing industry. It
